Desired Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid state teaching certification for Visual Impairment or eligibility to obtain.
• Specialized training or coursework in education for the visually impaired.
• Experience with Braille, assistive technology, and adapted materials.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Previous school-based or pediatric experience is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess student abilities and develop effective instructional strategies tailored to individual needs.
• Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments across a range of abilities and grade levels.
• Consult with classroom teachers, school staff, and families to foster an inclusive learning environment.
• Train and support staff in the use of assistive technology, adaptive materials, and accessibility best practices.
• Ensure compliance with IDEA and state regulations regarding services for students with visual impairments.
• Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to IEP meetings, reports, and progress monitoring.
