Teacher for the Visually Impaired - Raeford, North Carolina

Make a meaningful difference for students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired, working with elementary, middle, and high school learners for the 2026-27 school year. This full-time contract position offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with school teams and families, ensuring students with visual impairments receive tailored educational support that helps them excel.

As part of a dedicated special education department, you’ll deliver impactful instruction and evaluations, applying your expertise to foster success across a diverse caseload. The contract term will run from August 10, 2026, through May 27, 2027, with consistent weekday hours set at 37.5 per week.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Must hold certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (VI Teacher)
• Experience working in K-12 settings with students who have visual impairments
• Strong skills in adapting instructional materials and methods according to individualized educational plans (IEPs)
• Ability to collaborate with sign language interpreters and support staff
• Competency in both formal and informal student achievement assessments
• Knowledgeable in participating in ARD meetings and contributing to the IEP process

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments across elementary, middle, and high school levels
• Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and inform instructional adjustments
• Prepare educational materials, adapting curriculum as necessary
• Attend and contribute to relevant ARD meetings as a member of the IEP team
