Key Qualifications:

• Valid state certification in teaching students with visual impairments or equivalent credential
• Proficiency in Braille reading and transcription, including preparation of instructional materials
• Strong understanding of assistive technology and accessible educational resources
• Experience collaborating with teachers, support staff, and families
• Excellent communication, organizational, and advocacy skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized and group instruction tailored to students with visual impairments
• Adapt academic materials into Braille or accessible formats
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to modify curriculum and develop accommodations
• Conduct functional vision assessments and contribute to IEP development and progress monitoring
• Serve as a resource on best practices in accessibility for school staff and families
• Foster an inclusive, supportive learning environment that encourages student growth
