Your expertise will support students with visual impairments, helping them gain the skills and confidence needed to thrive academically and personally. This role runs from August 13 through June 11 and is structured for 37.5 hours per week during the school year.

Key Qualifications:

  • Possession of a valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential with authorization for Visual Impairments OR a California teaching credential with the ability to teach visually handicapped students (EL CLAD)
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Prior experience supporting visually impaired students in an educational environment is highly valued
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to collaborate with educators, specialists, families, and students

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized and group instruction to students with visual impairments, adapting curriculum and materials as needed
  • Perform functional vision assessments and make recommendations to support student learning
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals specific to each student’s visual needs
  • Consult with classroom teachers and staff to ensure accessible learning environments
  • Foster independence, self-advocacy, and confidence in students through specialized instruction
  • Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of student progress

Experience working on-site is required, as this is not a virtual or hybrid position.
