This part-time, onsite opportunity spans the entire 2026 - 2027 academic year, from August 26, 2026, through June 16, 2027. As a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI), you'll create meaningful learning experiences and help students thrive.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Washington TVI Certification (required)
- Fingerprinting and clearance through OSPI (required)
- Professional experience working in a school setting with visually impaired students preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and advocacy skills
- Collaborative approach to working with educators, families, and support staff
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support services to a caseload of 8 students with varying levels of need
- Adapt curriculum materials and create individualized learning plans to accommodate student needs
- Consult with teachers, staff, and families to ensure optimal learning environments and accessibility
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation in accordance with school and state guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student progress evaluations
This position entails 15 hours per week of dedicated, onsite service. You'll have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with students, contribute to their educational journey, and stay engaged in a supportive school community.
