Qualifications and Experience:
- Active certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) is required
- Experience working with students who are visually impaired, particularly within school settings
- Knowledge and understanding of Individualized Education Program (IEP) processes
- Strong communication skills for effective parent and staff collaboration
- Ability to provide both direct instructional services and indirect consultative support
Responsibilities:
- Deliver part-time, onsite support to students as outlined in their IEPs, from August 5, 2026, through May 27, 2027
- Provide direct instruction and consultative guidance to foster academic and functional independence
- Attend IEP meetings, contributing specialized insights and recommendations
- Maintain accurate records, tracking service delivery and communications related to students’ progress and needs
- Consult with classroom teachers and staff to ensure accessible learning experiences
- Serve multiple locations within the district, adapting to evolving caseloads as students qualify
