Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting K-12 students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired for the upcoming 26-27 academic year. In this full-time, itinerant position, you will make a meaningful impact by collaborating with diverse learners and educators across the district. Desired Qualifications:

• Valid state certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Previous experience working with students who are blind or visually impaired, preferably with a K-12 population
• Familiarity with Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive instructional strategies
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
• Ability to travel between multiple school sites within the district as part of an itinerant assignment
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet individual student needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to students who are blind or visually impaired in both individual and small group settings
• Consult with general and special education teachers to support the integration of appropriate accommodations and modifications
• Conduct functional vision and learning media assessments to inform IEP planning
• Develop and adapt lesson materials, ensuring accessibility for students at various grade levels (K-12)
• Advocate for students’ needs, supporting their independence and academic achievement
• Maintain accurate records and collaborate with families and multi-disciplinary teams
