Qualifications & Experience:

• Current Texas certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) or eligibility for such licensure.
• Experience working with children or young adults who are blind or visually impaired in educational settings.
• Strong understanding of assistive technology, Braille instruction, and adaptive strategies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage a steady caseload independently.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments, ensuring access to the curriculum.
• Adapt and modify classroom materials, including producing accessible content in Braille or large print.
• Conduct functional vision and learning media assessments.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and related service providers to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Offer guidance and support for students’ orientation and mobility needs within the school environment.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and services provided.
