Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience working with children with visual impairments in educational settings
• Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and specialized instructional strategies
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to assess individual student needs and adapt teaching accordingly
• Reliable organizational and documentation abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s goals and needs
• Collaborate with general educators, therapists, and other specialists to promote student success
• Train staff and families on adaptive materials, devices, and effective strategies
• Conduct functional vision assessments and recommend appropriate accommodations
• Maintain accurate and timely progress reports and documentation
