Desired Qualifications:

  • Certified Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) or eligibility for certification
  • Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with visual impairments
  • Proficiency in adapting instructional materials, including Braille and tactile resources
  • Strong collaboration skills to partner with teachers, therapists, and families
  • Ability to assess students’ needs and monitor growth in both academic and daily living skills
  • Flexibility, empathy, and a passion for inclusive education

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction to students with visual impairments in both individual and small group settings
  • Develop and modify lesson plans tailored to students’ varied visual and academic needs
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure accessible learning environments
  • Provide support and training to staff and families on adaptive strategies and assistive technology
  • Maintain accurate records, write progress reports, and contribute to IEP meetings
  • Support students in developing compensatory, organizational, mobility, and life skills
