You'll step into a pivotal role, delivering individualized instruction and consultative services to empower the student throughout his learning journey—all in a flexible remote setting.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active certification or credential as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Demonstrated experience with Braille instruction for middle school students
  • Proficiency with accessible technologies and educational tools for students with visual impairments
  • Ability to provide both direct instructional services and consultative support to educational teams and families
  • Comfort and effectiveness in a virtual teaching environment
  • Empathy, patience, and excellent communication skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct remote instruction, focusing on Braille literacy, assistive technology, and accommodations for classroom success
  • Consult with general education teachers, school staff, and the family to implement effective strategies and modifications
  • Assess the student’s progress and recommend adjustments to instructional approaches as needed
  • Foster an inclusive and encouraging online learning atmosphere
  • Maintain thorough documentation and collaborate with the school team to support the student’s IEP goals
