An opportunity is available for a part-time Teacher for Blind and Visually Impaired students, serving up to four days per week in Rochester, NY. This contract role will begin on January 12, 2026, and conclude on June 26, 2026. The specific days and caseload will be determined upon securing the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students who are blind or visually impaired
- Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs
- Collaborate with educators, families, and related service providers to enhance student learning and access
- Utilize adaptive teaching methods and assistive technology to promote independence and academic success
Qualifications:
- Valid New York State license for Teaching Students with Visual Impairments (TVI)
- Experience working with students who are blind or visually impaired
- Strong knowledge of curriculum adaptations and accessibility tools
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage confidential information professionally
Location: Rochester, NY
Schedule: Up to 4 days per week, Monday through Friday
