A contract position is available for a part-time Teacher for the Blind and Visually Impaired to serve K-12 students. This role is based in Rochester, NY, and will support up to four days per week during the 2025–2026 academic school year.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction and support tailored to students with visual impairments.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and adapt curriculum materials accordingly.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and related service providers to ensure accessibility and educational success.
  • Conduct assessments and monitor students’ progress to modify instructional approaches as needed.
  • Assist with orientation and mobility training, as appropriate for student needs.
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with all state and district guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Valid New York State teaching license for the visually impaired is required.
  • Experience working with blind and visually impaired students in K-12 educational settings.
  • Knowledge of assistive technologies and instructional strategies specific to visual impairments.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.

Location:

  • Rochester, New York

Contract Details:

  • Duration: January 12, 2026 to June 26, 2026
  • Part-time position, up to 4 days per week, Monday through Friday
  • Caseload and specific schedule to be determined upon hire
