Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid certification/licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired
  • Experience in Special Education or working with students who are visually impaired
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching materials and strategies for individual student needs
  • Passion for empowering students with visual impairments

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Deliver specialized instruction to students with visual impairments in diverse classroom settings
  • Develop, modify, and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, families, and school staff
  • Evaluate progress and adjust interventions as needed
  • Provide resources and guidance for adaptive technology and Braille
