In this contract position, you’ll deliver specialized instruction and advocacy, ensuring students receive access to curriculum, resources, and learning experiences that meet their unique needs.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience working in K-12 school environments
• Proficiency with assistive technology and Braille instruction
• Strong collaboration skills for partnering with educators, families, and related service providers
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities

What You’ll Do:

• Assess students’ vision-related educational requirements and create individualized learning plans accordingly
• Provide direct and consultative instruction tailored for visually impaired students
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to facilitate accommodations and modifications
• Offer guidance on the use of assistive technology devices in academic settings
• Participate actively in IEP meetings and student progress reviews
• Maintain accurate documentation for compliance and reporting purposes
• Support families with understanding resources, learning tools, and advocacy for their children
