Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification for Visually Impaired students (TVI)
  • Previous experience in a school-based setting working with children who are visually impaired
  • Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and accessible instructional strategies
  • Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, families, and support personnel
  • Excellent communication, organization, and adaptability skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized and group instruction tailored to the unique learning needs of visually impaired students
  • Adapt and modify curriculum using specialized materials, such as Braille, tactile graphics, and accessible technology
  • Assess student progress and document educational outcomes
  • Consult regularly with staff and families to promote inclusive educational opportunities
