Key Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification with specialization in Visual Impairment
• Experience working with children or adolescents with visual impairments in a school setting
• Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive instructional strategies
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Ability to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Flexibility and resourcefulness in adapting materials and environments for student needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and consultative instruction to students with visual impairments
• Assess and monitor each student's abilities and progress, adjusting strategies as needed
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families
• Provide guidance and training on accessibility tools and resources
• Participate in IEP meetings and document student goals, services, and progress
• Advocate for students’ needs and inclusion in all school activities
