Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching certification for Visually Impaired students
• Previous experience supporting K-12 students with visual impairments preferred
• Knowledge of adaptive technologies and Braille instruction

• Ability to assess student needs and progress effectively

Essential Responsibilities:

• Design and implement tailored instructional strategies that meet each student’s unique learning requirements
• Adapt classroom materials into accessible formats, including large print and Braille
• Provide direct and consultative services to students, staff, and families
• Foster self-advocacy skills in students for maximum independence both in and out of the classroom
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Maintain detailed progress reports and participate in IEP meetings
• Advise educators and administrators on best practices and resources for visually impaired learners
