Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Eligibility to work in Florida with appropriate state credentialing
- Experience supporting K-12 students with visual impairments in educational settings
- Strong understanding of Braille, accessible educational technology, and adaptive devices
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, families, and educators
- Ability to assess, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver instruction tailored to each student’s visual needs and learning goals
- Adapt and modify curriculum materials using Braille, large print, or other accessible formats
- Conduct assessments and track student progress toward IEP goals
- Liaise with teachers and support staff to ensure classroom inclusion and access
- Provide consultation and training for staff on best practices and assistive technology
- Empower families with resources and information to support learning outside school
