Qualifications and Experience:
- Hold a valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Previous experience supporting students with visual impairments in school or educational settings
- Strong understanding of assistive technology and adaptive instructional strategies
- Ability to develop and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students with visual impairments, supporting both academic growth and independence
- Assess student needs and develop appropriate goals and learning strategies
- Provide and recommend adaptive materials, technology, and resources
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure student success
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide professional input
- Offer training and support to educational staff regarding vision impairment accommodations
- Travel as needed within assigned schools or classrooms to provide services
