Make a real difference this Extended School Year (ESY) supporting students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired. This contract opportunity will have you working closely with a dedicated caseload of 10-15 students in a supportive setting tailored for individuals with significant behavioral and physical disabilities. If you are passionate about accessible education and ready to lend your expertise in one central building, this is the position for you.
You’ll work at collaborative educational centers in the Plymouth, MN area, Monday through Thursday from 8:45 am to 12:45 pm, beginning June 8th, 2026 and concluding July 16th, 2026.
Qualifications:
- Possess active certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI/BVI)
- Experience working with school-aged students, particularly those with severe behavioral and physical needs
- Ability to adapt instruction and materials for visually impaired learners
- Skilled in collaborating with classroom teams and multidisciplinary staff
- Strong communication skills for parent and staff coordination
- Previous ESY/Summer program experience is preferred but not required
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small group instruction to students with visual impairments
- Adapt curriculum materials and classroom environments for various student needs
- Work within a team to support IEP implementation and progress monitoring
- Consult with staff, families, and related service providers regarding accommodations and instructional strategies
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom climate
