Bring your expertise as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired to a rewarding contract position supporting students near Saint Paul, MN. This opportunity focuses on working closely with one student who is blind or has significant visual impairment, ensuring individualized attention and specialized instruction.

As part of this role, you’ll deliver in-person services twice a month, with each session lasting 30 minutes. Your skills and dedication will support educational access and help create a positive, inclusive learning environment tailored to the student’s unique needs.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Hold valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Demonstrated experience providing direct instruction and services to students with blindness or significant visual impairment
  • Strong knowledge of individualized education planning and adapting curriculum for accessibility
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and support staff
  • Commitment to maintaining clear records and communication about student progress

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct, in-person instruction twice monthly, 30 minutes each session, to a student with visual impairment
  • Assess the student’s needs and adapt teaching strategies and materials for optimal learning
  • Collaborate with the broader academic team to maintain consistent support and progress monitoring
  • Advocate for accessibility and contribute to a positive, accommodating educational environment
  • Offer guidance to classroom teachers regarding specialized instructional methods and resources
