Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid teaching certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field
• Demonstrated experience working with visually impaired students in educational settings
• Knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and accessible instructional materials
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess students’ visual functioning and design individualized educational plans (IEPs)
• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to each student’s needs, using adaptive resources and techniques
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure full student participation
• Teach Braille, orientation and mobility skills, and use of assistive technology
• Communicate regularly with families to share progress and provide guidance
• Participate in IEP meetings, assessments, and ongoing professional development
