Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience teaching or supporting students with visual impairments in a school environment
- Solid understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs), assistive technology, and accessibility tools
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet diverse student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative services for students who are blind or visually impaired in accordance with IEP goals
- Develop and implement instructional strategies and adaptive materials tailored to each student’s needs
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to ensure accessible learning
- Conduct functional vision assessments and make recommendations for optimal learning environments
- Support the use of technology and devices that enhance students’ academic and daily living skills
