In this position, you will:
Qualifications & Experience:
- Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired or eligibility to obtain
- Comprehensive knowledge in delivering instruction for visually impaired students
- Experience with direct and indirect service delivery in educational settings
- Proficiency conducting Functional Vision Evaluations (FVE), Learning Media Assessments (LMA), and Orientation & Mobility (O&M) assessments
- Strong communication skills for effective staff consultation and collaboration
- Ability to prepare and adapt educational materials to meet student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instructional hours tailored to students with visual impairments
- Offer indirect services, including consultations with educators and staff, to foster inclusive classroom environments
- Conduct evaluations such as FVE, LMA, and O&M, documenting and reporting findings
- Prepare specialized instructional materials and ensure accessibility across curricula
- Attend ARD meetings, contributing to Individualized Education Plans and supporting interdisciplinary discussions
