This contract opportunity runs from August 13th through June 11th, offering the chance to work closely with students in an onsite environment, helping shape their academic experience and empowering their growth.
Qualifications:
- Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential with Visual Impairments authorization OR
- California teaching credential with authorization to teach visually handicapped students (EL CLAD)
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Experience working with K-12 students with visual impairments preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to delivering in-person instruction (onsite only; remote work is not available)
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct, individualized instruction to students with visual impairments, adapting materials as needed
- Develop and implement educational plans based on student IEPs and specific needs
- Collaborate with general and special education teachers, support staff, and families to foster student success
- Conduct assessments to determine students' instructional goals and measure progress
- Provide consultative support and resources to promote accessibility in the educational environment
- Maintain up-to-date records and participate in IEP meetings and team discussions
