Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Demonstrated experience working with K-12 students with visual impairments
- Strong understanding of Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive strategies
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility and adaptability within a fast-paced, collaborative setting
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to K-12 students with visual impairments across multiple grades
- Assess students’ needs and craft individualized instructional plans
- Collaborate with educational teams and families to deliver comprehensive support
- Introduce and utilize Braille, low vision aids, and technology to enhance learning
- Maintain accurate records documenting progress and compliance
- Participate in IEP meetings, consultations, and ongoing professional development
