Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid teaching certification in Visual Impairment (TVI) or eligibility to obtain
• Experience working with students who are blind or have low vision, preferably in a school setting
• Knowledge of braille instruction, assistive technology, and other accessibility tools
• Familiarity with developing and implementing IEPs for visually impaired students
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic educational environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments
• Adapt curriculum and classroom materials for accessibility
• Conduct assessments to determine students’ unique needs and monitor progress
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, families, and administration for effective student support
• Advocate for student accommodations and access to appropriate resources
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal setting
• Offer training and consultative support to school staff as needed
