Desired Qualifications:

• Current certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs for visually impaired students
• Familiarity with Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive materials
• Strong ability to work with multidisciplinary teams, including educators, therapists, and families
• Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to supporting students of diverse backgrounds and abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess students’ educational needs and develop tailored instructional plans
• Provide direct instruction and support to students who are blind or have low vision
• Adapt curriculum and materials into accessible formats
• Integrate assistive technology and teach its use in the classroom setting
• Support classroom teachers and staff through consultation and training
• Advocate for accessible educational opportunities and accommodations
• Monitor and document student progress, collaborating with IEP teams
