Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Educator Certification and National Certification for Teachers of the Visually Impaired
  • Experience working with students with visual impairments, preferably in a school or similar setting

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach with staff, families, and other service providers
  • Successful completion of a district background check per credentialing requirements

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction to students with visual impairments within assigned schools and caseload, spanning various age groups (details to be confirmed)
  • Assess student needs and adapt curriculum using specialized techniques and materials
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, special educators, and support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Provide guidance and resources to families and staff to promote student progress and independence
  • Maintain accurate documentation and participate in team meetings as required
