Qualifications:

  • Valid Educator Certification and National Certification
  • Successful completion of district background, fingerprinting, and credentialing requirements
  • Experience working as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired strongly preferred
  • Adaptability and commitment to traveling between assigned schools
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities

Responsibilities:

  • Serve an itinerant caseload of approximately 12 K-8 students across up to 3 schools in a day (most days will involve just 2 schools)
  • Develop and implement individualized instructional plans for students with visual impairments
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and staff to support student success
  • Maintain accurate records and monitor student progress
  • Attend IEP meetings and participate in student advocacy
