A rewarding contract opportunity is available for an experienced Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) working with K-12 students. This full-time role, located near Santa Cruz, CA, is designed for the current school year and offers 37.5 hours per week. Play an integral part in helping students with visual impairments achieve academic success and independence.

Qualifications:

• Valid credential as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
• Experience working with K-12 students with visual impairments in an educational setting
• Strong knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive devices
• Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and support staff
• Flexibility and willingness to support students across various grade levels
• Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills

Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized and group instruction to students with visual impairments
• Adapt curriculum and materials to meet unique learning needs and access requirements
• Administer functional vision assessments and develop recommendations for support
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and implement IEPs
• Train staff, families, and students on the use of assistive technology
• Maintain progress records, prepare reports, and participate in meetings as needed
