Key qualifications and experience for success:

• Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience providing direct instruction to students with visual impairments
• Skilled in conducting functional vision evaluations (FVE) and learning media assessments (LMA)
• Familiarity with orientation and mobility (O&M) assessment and support
• Ability to deliver both direct student instructional hours and indirect services, including teacher/staff consultation and materials preparation
• Comfortable participating in ARD meetings and contributing to educational planning
• Strong communication, organizational, and collaborative skills
• Previous experience in school settings is preferred

Responsibilities include:

• Delivering individualized instruction and direct services to students with visual impairments
• Conducting FVE, LMA, and O&M assessments to inform student plans
• Collaborating with teachers, support staff, and families through consultations and strategic planning
• Preparing adapted materials and resources to support student learning and access to the curriculum
• Participating actively in ARD meetings to advocate for student needs and goals
