Your Key Qualifications:

  • Certified Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI), or eligibility for certification
  • Experience providing direct instruction to students with visual impairments
  • Skilled in completing Functional Vision Evaluations (FVE), Learning Media Assessments (LMA), and Orientation & Mobility (O&M) assessments
  • Strong consultation skills for collaborating with staff and preparing accessible materials
  • Familiarity with attending and contributing to ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meetings
  • Commitment to providing both direct and indirect services in a school setting

What You’ll Do:

  • Deliver direct instructional support to students with visual impairments, addressing individual learning needs
  • Offer consultation to teachers, staff, and parents, ensuring accommodations are effectively implemented
  • Conduct necessary evaluations and assessments, maintaining detailed documentation
  • Collaborate on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and ARD meetings to develop and track student goals
  • Prepare and adapt instructional materials using best practices for visual accessibility
  • Contribute to an inclusive and supportive educational environment
