Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) in a collaborative, contract-based opportunity supporting an education cooperative. This vital role services up to 15 districts, providing specialized instruction to students with visual impairments. As a 1.4 FTE position, you’ll have the chance to put your expertise to work across a diverse and supportive network of educators and students. The assignment begins on August 17, 2026.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired
  • Experience working with students who have varying degrees of visual impairment
  • Strong understanding of individualized education program (IEP) processes and assistive technology
  • Ability to travel between multiple district sites as needed
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field preferred

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments in educational settings
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals tailored to each student’s needs
  • Support classroom teachers and staff with strategies and resources for accessibility and inclusion
  • Conduct assessments to determine students’ levels of functional vision, orientation and mobility, and academic needs
  • Advocate for necessary accommodations and modifications to ensure student success
  • Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings across districts
