Make a meaningful impact by supporting students with visual impairments in an educational setting. A full-time contract opportunity is available for an experienced Teacher for the Visually Impaired to serve students near Scottsdale, AZ. You’ll collaborate closely with school staff to deliver appropriate instruction, develop individualized education plans, and advocate for the unique needs of each student.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification in Visual Impairments or eligibility to obtain
• Familiarity with Braille instruction, assistive technology, and adaptive equipment
• Prior experience working with K-12 students with visual impairments preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to create engaging and accessible learning materials
• Committed to fostering inclusion and independence

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Adapt curriculum to ensure accessibility for students with varying degrees of vision loss
• Teach Braille, orientation and mobility skills, and use of specialized technology
• Consult with classroom teachers and staff to support student learning
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
• Communicate regularly with families and stakeholders regarding student achievements and ongoing needs
• Maintain thorough records and contribute to required reporting and documentation
