Qualifications and Experience:

• Certification or credential as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Proficiency in teaching Braille and working as a Braillist
• Understanding of assistive technology and adaptive tools for visually impaired students
• Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, teachers, and support staff
• Patience, adaptability, and a student-centered approach to instruction

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instructional services to students with visual impairments, including Braille literacy and the use of specialized technology
• Adapt curriculum materials to meet individual student needs and promote full classroom participation
• Conduct functional vision assessments and collaborate to develop relevant goals within IEPs
• Support the school team with training and resources on accommodations and best practices for visually impaired learners
• Serve as a resource for parents and guardians, offering guidance and support regarding their child’s educational experience
• Document student progress and participate in IEP meetings as required
