This rewarding contract opportunity places you in a supportive educational environment, where you’ll collaborate closely with students, teachers, and families to remove barriers and foster independent learning for those with visual impairments.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification and relevant credential for Visually Impaired (TVI) instruction
  • Experience working with students with blindness or low vision, preferably in a K-12 educational setting
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and accessible curriculum adaptation
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Collaborative spirit and commitment to inclusive educational practices

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instructional services and consultative support tailored to students with visual impairments
  • Assess students’ educational and functional visual needs, developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Provide training and ongoing guidance for staff, students, and caregivers on use of adaptive equipment and learning strategies
  • Develop accessible classroom materials, resources, and activities that align with curriculum standards
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment that empowers students toward independence and academic success
