Key Qualifications:

• Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience working with students who are blind or have low vision
• Knowledge of braille literacy, assistive technologies, and tactile learning tools
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and educational teams
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet student needs in a variety of school settings

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and consultative services according to IEPs for students with visual impairments
• Assess student abilities and design personalized instructional strategies
• Train and support classroom teachers and staff in adapting materials and using accommodations
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families to monitor student progress
• Maintain accurate records, data collection, and progress reports
• Support students in developing independence and self-advocacy skills
