Key Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification in Visual Impairment (TVI) or eligibility for certification
• Experience working with students who are blind or visually impaired in educational settings
• Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive equipment
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs
• Collaborative spirit and excellent communication skills with both students and colleagues
• Commitment to ongoing professional growth and learning

Responsibilities:

• Assess student needs and adapt curriculum/materials to ensure accessibility
• Provide direct instruction in Braille, orientation and mobility, and use of technical aids
• Work closely with educators, therapists, and families to support student achievement
• Develop and monitor student goals in accordance with IEPs
• Advocate for students' needs within the school community
• Participate in meetings, staff development, and ongoing training to stay current with best practices
