You'll be working with K-12+ students, serving a mix of general education and special education classrooms, and providing itinerant services across a thoughtfully assigned cluster of schools to minimize travel.
Requirements:
- Active DOE certification and ability to complete fingerprinting requirements swiftly
- Experience or training in Braille and Assistive Technology; familiarity with accessing resources via the Federal Quota program is highly valued
- Versatility in working with diverse learners, including those with multiple disabilities
- Skilled in participating in and documenting IEPs; experience with TN Pulse platform preferred
- Proficiency and comfort working with Chromebooks for instructional access
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments across elementary, middle, and high schools
- Collaborate with general and special education staff to ensure students’ individualized needs are met
- Provide expertise in the use of assistive technology and adapt educational materials as required
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and maintain thorough documentation using the established district systems
- Travel between campuses, with a schedule that minimizes commute times
