Key Experience & Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certificate with an endorsement in Visual Impairment (TVI)
  • Experience teaching students who are visually impaired in school settings
  • Familiarity with braille instruction, assistive technology, and accessible materials
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Commitment to supporting students’ unique needs and abilities

What You'll Do:

  • Design and deliver tailored instruction for students with visual impairments
  • Adapt and create materials using braille and other accessible formats
  • Assess students’ skills and make recommendations for classroom adaptations
  • Consult with classroom teachers and staff to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications
  • Work with families to provide guidance and foster advocacy for their children
  • Monitor student progress and update IEP goals and documentation as needed
