Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience working with school-aged children, preferably in a public school setting
• Proficiency in Braille and assistive technology for visually impaired learners
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Compassionate, patient, and flexible teaching approach

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction and adaptive support to students with visual impairments, both individually and in group settings
• Assess student needs and adapt instructional methods/materials for optimal accessibility
• Consult with general education teachers and staff to support classroom inclusion
• Support development of independent living, orientation, and mobility skills
• Contribute to IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and documentation
• Communicate regularly with families and multidisciplinary team members
