Make a difference in the lives of students as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired. This is a full-time, in-person contract opportunity for the 2026/2027 school year, focusing on providing specialized support to students with visual impairments. The position is itinerant and serves multiple sites within the nearby area. While in-person work is required, there is flexibility to consider hybrid scheduling for the right candidate.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Washington State Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) licensure required
  • Previous experience as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired is highly valued
  • Solid understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and adaptive technology
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with staff, students, and families
  • Ability to travel between sites within the assigned area

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support for students with visual impairments across various school settings
  • Develop and implement IEPs tailored to students’ unique needs
  • Consult with other teachers and staff to adapt curriculum and learning materials
  • Assist in the selection and use of assistive technology and accessible resources
  • Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies
  • Offer professional guidance and training for educational staff on best practices
  • Serve as a resource for families, supporting student advocacy and inclusion
