Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) or the ability to obtain certification
• Experience working with students who have visual impairments, preferably in a school environment
• Strong understanding of Braille instruction, assistive technology, and accessibility tools
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with staff, students, and families
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments using appropriate methodologies and materials
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and related service providers to facilitate an inclusive learning environment
• Conduct assessments and contribute to IEP development and review meetings
• Train and coach school personnel and families on strategies and tools for supporting students
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
