Ideal candidates will possess:

• Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
• Previous experience working with visually impaired students in school environments
• Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive devices
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and school staff
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)

Key responsibilities include:

• Assessing students’ functional vision and creating tailored instructional plans
• Delivering one-on-one or small group instruction aligned with IEP goals
• Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and parents to support best learning outcomes
• Providing training and support in the use of Braille materials and assistive technology
• Monitoring and documenting student progress, adjusting instruction as needed to promote growth and independence
