Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field
- Experience working in school settings preferred
- Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and orientation & mobility techniques
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to create and adapt individualized instructional plans
Your Responsibilities:
- Assess student needs and develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments
- Adapt and modify general education curriculum for accessibility
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Introduce and implement assistive technology and adaptive tools
- Consult with families, offering guidance and resources
- Maintain accurate records and progress reports
