Serving a diverse group of 20-23 students with varying needs, this position focuses on individualized instruction and tailored support in a collaborative school environment. This role offers a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week and invites educators who are enthusiastic about making a direct, meaningful impact on students' learning experiences.

Qualifications:

• Active North Carolina Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license/certification required
• Previous experience teaching or supporting students with visual impairments strongly preferred
• Solid understanding of braille instruction, assistive technology, and adaptive strategies
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Effective at adapting instructional techniques to meet students' unique needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments, adapting curriculum materials as needed
• Assess student needs and progress, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Utilize assistive technology, braille resources, and other adaptive materials to foster student independence
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with families, teachers, and support staff
• Participate in professional development and contribute to building an inclusive, supportive educational environment
