Make a meaningful impact as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired with a contract opportunity near Spring Lake, NC. This full-time, onsite position extends from ASAP through May 21, 2027, providing direct instruction and support to a diverse group of 20 to 23 students with varying visual needs.

You’ll collaborate closely with school staff, families, and service providers to foster an inclusive educational environment, ensuring every student’s unique needs are recognized and addressed throughout the school year.

Qualifications:

  • Current, active North Carolina Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license/certification required
  • Previous experience teaching or supporting students with visual impairments is highly desirable
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to varying levels of visual needs
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with a multidisciplinary team
  • Committed to providing engaging, adaptive instruction and materials

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction to visually impaired students in individual and group settings
  • Adapt curriculum, teaching materials, and classroom environments to ensure accessibility
  • Conduct ongoing assessments and monitor student progress
  • Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and family conferences
  • Serve as a resource for staff and families regarding best practices and adaptive technology
  • Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with all educational standards
  • Foster a supportive, inclusive atmosphere for learning and growth
