Qualifications:
- Active Virginia Department of Education (DOE) Certification for Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience serving visually impaired students in a school setting preferred
- Willingness to complete a Virginia Department of Social Services background check promptly
- Recent TB test (required for credentialing)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Comfort working with a range of ages and service needs (PreK–12th grade)
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative vision services across assigned campuses
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals
- Collaborate with school personnel, families, and other specialists
- Assess students’ visual needs and deliver effective instructional support
- Maintain thorough records and participate in IEP meetings
- Flexibly manage your schedule and caseload, with district support
