You will play a crucial role in shaping accessible educational experiences, working in close partnership with educators and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct specialized instruction to a single 6th-grade student in accordance with IEP goals and vision-specific needs.
• Conduct two individualized 30-minute instructional sessions per month.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement accommodations and ensure access to the curriculum.
• Adapt materials and facilitate use of assistive technology so the student can fully engage in all activities.
• Monitor progress and provide regular updates to the educational team regarding the student's needs and growth.
• Consult with school staff regarding accessibility strategies, resources, and accommodations.
• Maintain compliance with all relevant requirements, paperwork, and services related to IEPs.

Qualifications:

• Valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission certification with Vision Impairment/TVI endorsement.
• Experience or strong familiarity with teaching students with visual impairments, preferably at the middle school level.
• Understanding of IEP processes, specialized instructional strategies, and assistive technology.
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with teachers, staff, and families.
• Flexibility and resourcefulness in adapting materials and approaches for optimal accessibility.
