Make a meaningful difference in the life of a middle school student by providing expert guidance and instruction as a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI). This contract role offers the unique opportunity to work on a part-time basis, delivering highly specialized support to a single 6th grade student.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Georgia PSC certification with a Vision Impairment/TVI endorsement
  • Experience delivering direct instruction and accommodations for students with visual impairments, ideally within a school setting
  • Familiarity with IEP implementation, progress monitoring, and special education compliance
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with educators and school teams
  • Expertise in accessibility tools and assistive technology for visually impaired students

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan and provide two individualized, 30-minute instructional sessions per month tailored to a 6th grader's IEP goals and evolving needs
  • Collaborate closely with classroom teachers and school staff, ensuring effective accommodations and materials accessibility across all educational activities
  • Consult on assistive technology, classroom modifications, and instructional strategies to support inclusion and independence
  • Monitor and document student progress, communicating vision-related needs and updates with the broader support team
  • Help maintain compliance with IEP services, accommodations, and state education standards
