Make a meaningful difference supporting students with visual impairments in a vibrant school community. This contract position offers the opportunity to work across multiple school campuses, providing critical educational services to students who benefit from a specialized touch. As an integral part of the educational support team, you will have the chance to collaborate with staff and shape learning experiences for students aged preschool through high school.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Active FL DOE Teacher for Visually Impaired certification
• Proficiency in teaching Braille
• Experience supporting students with visual impairments in a school setting
• Comfortable traveling between assigned campuses as needed
• Ability to coordinate and consult with other educators and family members
• District fingerprinting required (flexibility available for those previously fingerprinted with AHCA Clearinghouse)

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and consultative instruction to a caseload of 12 students, ensuring all receive 690 minutes of service per week
• Teach Braille and adapt curriculum materials
• Monitor student progress and develop individualized educational plans
• Serve as a resource and collaborator with other teachers, staff, and families
• Travel between up to five school locations within the district
• Maintain accurate records, participate in IEP meetings, and ensure compliance with district and state requirements
