Key Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification with a specialization in visual impairments
• Experience working in K–12 educational settings, preferably with diverse student populations
• Strong knowledge of adaptive technologies and Braille instruction
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Compassionate, patient, and creative approach to teaching

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assess students' visual functioning and educational needs to tailor effective instructional strategies
• Deliver direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments, both in the classroom and through specialized resource sessions
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote inclusive learning opportunities
• Adapt curriculum materials and classroom environments for accessibility
• Instruct students in the use of Braille, large print, and assistive technology
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student progress monitoring and reporting
• Advocate for students’ needs, ensuring access to resources and equal participation in school activities
