We are seeking a passionate, dedicated professional ready to support and empower students with visual impairments in a dynamic school setting near Sunnyvale, CA. This is a full-time, onsite contract role beginning August 13 and concluding June 11, offering the chance to make a real difference throughout the academic year.
Key Qualifications:
- Hold a valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential authorizing Visual Impairments, or a California teaching credential with authorization to teach visually handicapped students (EL CLAD).
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Background in adapting instructional materials and strategies for students with a range of visual impairments.
- Strong collaboration skills to work alongside educators, support staff, and families.
- Committed to fostering an inclusive, accessible classroom environment.
Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver tailored instruction for students with visual impairments, promoting academic and personal growth.
- Assess individual student needs and develop customized learning plans.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and related service providers to support student integration and success.
- Provide direct instruction in Braille, assistive technology, orientation and mobility techniques, and other specialized areas as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and participate in IEP meetings.
